Gateway to the Sound

In 1948, Edward P. Grad and Betty Grad donated a narrow strip of land along Beach Drive SW in Seattle with a simple but meaningful vision: that it be "used exclusively for public recreation and access to waters of Puget Sound." Their gift continues to serve the community today.

Andover Place sits between buildings and might not be sprawling, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in purpose - direct access to the shores of Puget Sound.

Views That Breathe

Take a moment to stand at Andover Place and you'll be rewarded with expansive views of the Kitsap Peninsula stretching across the horizon of Puget Sound. A humble path guides you down to the beach, where nature has provided its own seating arrangement - driftwood and tree trunks that have washed ashore create perfect perches for watching ferries glide by or simply soaking in the coastal atmosphere.
